hi, i’m kris. i’ve been writing since 2001. this site houses my fanfiction (and all its related fic fanart), writing advice, and in-progress fiction and non-fiction original works.

i’m a ph.d. candidate currently writing my dissertation and finishing up old fanfiction WIPs (spanning over ten years!) to clear the way for my original fiction and mainstream non-fiction (based on my dissertation research).

i created this site to store and protect my writing journeys after my tumblr (@therentyoupay) was wrongfully terminated on august 4, 2023 after eleven years of user-ship. the tumblr account has since been restored… but i not longer trust social media! it’s time to house and protect my work on a site of my own.

i blinked and the semester was “over”

the semester has ended and all that is left to do is grade students' final papers (due tomorrow) and finish my dissertation proposal so i suddenly thought "perhaps it's time to update my word counter!!" and whoops i wrote 16,558 words over the past month THIS IS WHY I WANTED TO WORD COUNT OH WELL
